Thousands are protesting against the Sudanese army in regions under its control. Demonstrations were held in the three cities of Khartoum State: Khartoum, Khartoum North, and Omdurman, as well as in Kassala State. Protesters gathered in public squares, particularly in the Shambat North area and at the Martyrs' Square in Omdurman. Authorities attempted to disperse the demonstrators by using tear gas, which led to clashes between the two sides. The protests coincide with the seventh anniversary of the popular movement that ousted Omar al-Bashir's regime. Video clips showing parts of the protests have been circulating on social media. The largest number of protesters was seen in Omdurman at "Khalifa Square", while rallies were also organized in Port Sudan in support of the popular movement.
