The head of the African Commission, Musa Faki, discussed the call for "targeted deportation". In connection with recent attacks on migrants in certain countries, he emphasized that such actions contradict the spirit of tolerance, hospitality, and African solidarity.
He also reminded of the principles of respect for human rights and the need for the international community to observe and support these values. "We are obligated to do everything possible to protect the rights and dignity of migrants, regardless of their origin," he emphasized.
"The African Commission condemns any forms of discrimination, xenophobia and intolerance and calls for adherence to international standards concerning migrants," Faki noted.
