The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced a unilateral three-month humanitarian ceasefire on Monday. This came after Sudanese Armed Forces commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan rejected an international ceasefire proposal. RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo said in a recorded speech: "We will commit to facilitating humanitarian work and allowing access for relief and medical teams to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people." He added: "Justice will take its course according to international law, and no perpetrator of violations will escape punishment." Dagalo also stated: "We hope that the Quadrilateral countries will also play their role in pushing the other party to respond to the humanitarian ceasefire in Sudan."
