The high-ranking representative of the United Nations expressed concern on Sunday over the apparent impunity of crimes being committed against civilians in the state of Jazeera in central Sudan.
The representative of the UN stated: "We urge Sudanese authorities to take immediate measures to stop the killing in the region and bring perpetrators to justice."
He also emphasized the need to ensure the safety of the local population, as well as humanitarian and medical workers, so that they can carry out their work without fear.
