The organization "Doctor Without Borders" warned yesterday that the civilian population of Sudan faced a high level of acute food insecurity, including 8.5 million people in a state of severe food insecurity or similar hunger conditions. At the same time, Khartoum and Juba signed an agreement on monitoring across borders to reduce tensions.

"Doctors Without Borders" stated: "International donors, the UN and parties to the conflict in Sudan and their allies must immediately take action to prevent additional deaths that could be avoided due to shortages in Sudan."
