The Head of the Office of the United Nations Organization for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Sudan, Edmud Tundland, warned that the situation in the country is deteriorating due to the ongoing conflict, displacements of people, and rising humanitarian needs.
He stressed that the results involved cases of violence, arrests, and threats against the civilian population. Tundland also noted that the continuing conflict leads to additional forced displacements of people and an increase in the number of those in need of humanitarian assistance.
He also emphasized that under the deteriorating situation in the country, the international community should step up its assistance to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe.
