
Nine people died and 21 were injured as a result of a militant artillery shelling by the Al-Abeyd strategic group in Sudan. According to local authorities, the shelling was a result of attacks by armed groups. Among the dead and injured, there are women and children. Eyewitnesses reported that the sounds of explosions were heard for several hours. Residents were in a panic trying to find shelter from the shelling in buildings and basements. One of the survivors recounted: "We were in shock from the sudden attack. It is good that we managed to escape, but the losses among the civilian population are devastating." Local authorities intend to investigate the incident and find those responsible for the attack on the population.
